Because so often, that spouse isn’t trailing at all. They’re finding the home, learning the new city, rebuilding routines and relationships, managing the household, and building a life of their own alongside medicine.
I call us Lighthouse Spouses™.
Not as a rebrand, but as a more accurate description of the role so many of us have been playing all along.
